Mirror-uri
Pentru cei ce nu ştiu sau au uitat, vechiul server LUG (colocat in GTS), şi-a dat obştescul sfârşit în luna august 2005, dupa ce oferise timp de peste 2 ani servicii extrem de utile comunităţii RLUG. La acea dată, eforturile noastre de resuscitare au eşuat, dar am primit un binevenit ajutor din partea iNES: ni s-a oferit colocarea unui nou server (având hardware achiziţionat de iNES, Crosspoint, RLUG).
Odată noul server instalat şi configurat, am reînceput tentativele de refacere a vechiului server. Problemele hardware au fost însă mai grave decât anticipasem iniţial, dar iată că după 6 luni de zile de la deces, LUG@GTS renaşte prin bunăvoinţa celor de la GTS Telecom. Odată cu aceasta, ftp.lug.ro primeşte forţe proaspete, concretizate prin capacitatea mărită de stocare (+1.2 TB).
Ca urmare a acestui eveniment, ftp.lug.ro va fi scindat în două servere:
- ftp.ines.lug.ro (ftp1.lug.ro) - ftp.gts.lug.ro (ftp2.lug.ro)
Cele 2 servere nu vor stoca aceleaşi mirror-uri, ci vor avea conţinut diferit. Accesul la mirror-uri se va putea face transparent (fără a şti exact pe ce server e plasat mirror-ul), prin intermediul unor linkuri de forma {ftp|http}://NUME.mirrors.lug.ro/NUME
